Front door lighting with LED strips

Front door lighting with LED strips

You can use LED strips to create an eye-catching lighting solution for your front door. Frame, highlight or create indirect light for your façade or main entrance.

Think outside the box and illuminate the area of your front door with LED strips. More than any other space on your property, the main entrance serves as the calling card for your house and you. When the evening draws in, balanced, glare-free lighting directs visitors to your front door and creates a positive first impression.

Frame with light

A lighting solution for the front door realised with LED strips is a sign of an innovative and open-minded attitude on the part of the lighting designers and owners of the building. Indirect lighting created with LED strips offers a new way to direct the gaze. If you have a pergola or a covered patio in front of your house, you can add character and structure by illuminating the pillars or the front door with LED strips. An unconventional lighting solution highlights the architecture of your house. You can enhance the effect by illuminating the pillars from below with luminaires embedded in the decking or the ground.

Profiles give your lighting solution a neat appearance and protect the LED strip

You can give your LED strip lighting the finishing touch with an aluminium profile. Often, aluminium profiles are hidden by embedding them inside a wooden pillar or other structure. Aluminium profiles prolong the service life of LED strips by protecting them and keeping them cool. The strips are delivered as 5- or 50-metre reels or cut to measure.

The colour temperature of light

The colour temperature of light is a matter of taste. The colour temperature is given in Kelvins. The lamp’s colour rendering index (RA or CRI) and colour temperature (K) greatly influence the way we perceive colours and what the ambience is like. The higher the Kelvin value, the colder and bluer the light is. Airam’s standard-length LED strips come in colour temperatures of 3,000 and 4,000 K. For outdoor use, the LED strip must have a protection class of IP44 or higher.
