Garden lighting for a Kannustalo house

Kannustalo’s Harmaja Saimaa is a modern loft-style wooden house, which was designed in accordance with the wishes of a family of four. The house’s large windows afford stunning views across Lake Saimaa. Illuminated stairs invite family members and their friends to explore the lakeshore, even in twilight. With their carefully designed lighting, the house’s elegant indoor and outdoor spaces blend in with the surrounding scenery.

Lighting in all the outdoor spaces is designed to complement the building’s architecture. The large wooden patios and the illuminated pergola increase the garden’s usability. When approaching the house along the street, visitors are guided to their destination by the Vino street number indicator. Malmi ground luminaires installed on the slate steps illuminate the entrance, while Frey downlights and Rigel strips were selected as the lighting solution for the covered patio path. The rectangular Dora luminaires, which go well with the house’s modern architecture, were mounted onto the walls of the covered patio area.

Located below the patio, the car port is equipped with round Zero luminaires with an aluminium housing. The cube-shaped DM3 luminaires, which are 10 cm wide and high, were mounted on the car port’s pillars. This elegant luminaire model was also selected for the pergola’s pillars.

Boundaries of indoor and outdoor spaces

This home basks in natural light that pours in from the large windows. In the garden, the goal was to blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. The large Garda XL floor lamp makes a cosy design element for an outdoor space. The trendy Garda table and floor luminaires are designed for outdoor use on patios and balconies.
