Even and powerful lighting for a sports hall

In the hall facilities of the sports centre, new luminaires were installed surface-mounted in place of the old lighting. The basic information required for the lighting plan was the dimensions of the rooms, the targeted level of light and information about the old lighting. Optimisation of the lighting level for the sports hall (874 m) and the wrestling/gymnastics hall (403 m) was ensured through Dialux calculations.

In both rooms, Sport 115W/840 luminaires meeting sports requirements and emitting high-quality and even light were installed in lines. The steel-bodied Sport luminaires are extremely suitable as surface mountings in renovated facilities. The luminaires have bright-anodised aluminium reflectors.

In sports halls, lighting's share of overall electrical energy consumption has traditionally been considerable. Through the lighting renovation, savings were achieved not only in energy consumption but also in maintenance intervals, since the service life of the light sources was increased from 20,000 to more than 50,000 hours. The renovation has meant more powerful, more even and fresher lighting, which makes people feel more alert and improve the conditions for doing sport and exercise.

On the window wall of the sports hall, narrow-bodied, surface-mounted Airaline luminaires were fitted, which provide indirect additional light through the wall on the corridor side. The Airaline series is designed as a universal luminaire and is very suitable for all kinds of facilities from sports centres to retail outlets and the needs of industry.

Both Sport and Airaline luminaires are also available with DALI controls, so it is possible to adjust the level of lighting according to the need.
